Movies To Add To Your Spooky Season Watch-list!

Halloween is on it's way and I don't know about you, but I can't WAIT to curl up and watch my favourite scary movies!

We all love the classics - Texas Chain Saw Massacre, Halloween, Nightmare on Elm Street - but in this post, I'm going to give you a small (spoiler free) list of underrated spooky flicks that I think would be a perfect addition to your Halloween watch-list!

Jennifer's Body (2009)

Jennifer's Body (2009) is a horror-comedy starring Megan Fox and Amanda Seyfried - already a great start! The story follows Jennifer, a high school girl possessed by a blood-thirsty demon who starts feeding on her male classmates! Can her best friend, Needy, stop the chaos before it's too late?! This film merges high school drama with horror and gore and leaves you wanting more!

The Babysitter (2017)

This film is one of my favourite films to watch any time of the year but it is a MUST when it comes to a Halloween movie marathon. While his parents are out of town, Cole tries to discover what his babysitter does once he falls asleep - little does he know, she's actually part of a satanic cult! This hilarious and gory slasher will have you on the edge of your seat as Cole fights for survival! Also, Samara Weaving plays the babysitter, so that should be a good enough reason to watch...

It Follows (2014)

Okay. This film, in my opinion, is one of the most underrated horror films ever! After her first sexual encounter with her new boyfriend, Jay learns that she is being followed by a supernatural entity that won't stop until she is dead. The only way she can rid herself of the curse is by passing it on through sex. This isn't a jump scare and gore kind of film, it's more of a leaves-you-feeling-unnerved-and-paranoid kind of film. It's unique, it's original and I think everyone should experience it at least once.

Creep (2014)

When a videographer answers an online ad for a job in a remote town, he finds himself in the company of a very strange and creepy man... Creep (2014) is probably one of my favourite found footage horror films! It is very unsettling, slightly disturbing and really has you wondering what is going to happen. It's not like your typical horror film, but the believable performances and the exciting - and crazy - plot makes for a great watch!

Fright Night (2011)

We can't have a spooky movie list and not include a vampire flick! Fright Night (2011) is a fun and frightening film that ticks every box a vampire film should! After several people in his neighbourhood go missing, Charley suspects his new neighbour could be a vampire, so he teams up with his girlfriend and a vampire hunter to try and take him down! The cast lineup is really enough to sell this movie - Colin Farrell, Toni Collette and David Tennant to name a few! I would recommend watching this film before sunset...

And that concludes my list of films that I think you should add to your Spooky Season Watch-list! I hope this list introduced you to something that you haven't considered watching before!
